Dutch graffiti artist arrested in New York

US justice officials have issued an arrest warrant for Dutch resident Robbert Boxem who went to New York as a ‘graffiti tourist’

23-year-old from Zwolle could get up to four years in prison if convicted. He has been indicted on charges of spray-painting a subway carriage and leading police on a dangerous chase along the tracks.The warrant was issued on Thursday after he failed to turn up in court

Hyves voted best Dutch website

Dutch social network site Hyves.nl has been voted website of the year by visitors to the Emerce e-Day fair in Rotterdam, beating last year’s winner Google which is now in third place.

The second most popular website was the online auction Markplaats.

Snack bar dispenses mobile phones

Customers of snackbar chain Febo will from today be able to buy prepaid mobile phones as well as traditional junk food from vending machines at a branch in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost.

The sales campaign comes from cut-price telephone company Telfort and runs until 17 October. The phones, with €15 worth of phone time, will cost €10 each.

 

Dead Space Preview

Spore 1.01 Patch

Electronic Arts has released a patch (download) for Spore, updating the latest life-sim/strategy game developed by EA Maxis to version 1.01. This patch fixes some bugs that have been reported and to respond to feedback from the community about tuning and stability. There is a cool cheat that allows you to turn your creature into a blocky representation of themselves, a new “inspection” feature for the creature creator to browse the parts stats that you have applied to your creature, and the much-requested “evoadvantage” cheat – you’ll now be able to start a new creature game with a more evolved creature of your choice.
