Ajax player John Heitinga wins Golden Shoe

Former Ajax player John Heitinga has been awarded the Golden Shoe for best Dutch footballer of the year. Heitinga now plays for the Spanish team Atletico Madrid. Two players tied for second place and therefore both received the Silver Shoe: former PSV goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and SC Heerenveen midfielder Danijel Pranjic. The shoes are presented annually to the best footballers playing for Dutch clubs, whether native talents or imports.

Google set to introduce its own Web browser

Google Inc is set to introduce on Tuesday a new Web browser entitled “Google Chrome” designed to more quickly handle video-rich or other complex Web programs, posing a challenge to browsers designed originally to handle text and graphics.
