Class-Action Lawsuit Against Nvidia

Now Nvidia must fight a new battle, this one in court. The graphics company has been hit with a securities fraud class action lawsuit, which covers all investors who purchased or otherwise acquired common stock of Nvidia between November 8, 2007, and July 2, 2008.

Swype: T9 Inventor Makes Touchscreen Text Entry Faster

Now one of the original creators of T9 predictive text has come up with a text entry system that makes touchscreen keyboards way faster. How much faster? The old fella is capable to typing at 50wpm using this. Dubbed “Swype”, the system gets you to swipe your finger or your stylus across the virtual keyboard, approximating the word that you would like to spell. You don’t have to be perfectly precise, because Swype will predict your chosen word… just like T9. Perhaps a video is the best way to demonstrate this:Vodpod videos no longer available.

Film festival to honour Rutger Hauer

Dutch actor Rutger Hauer is to be awarded this year’s prestigious Gouden Kalf prize for culture at the opening of the 28th Dutch Film Festival later this month.

The award is for Hauer’s ‘extraordinary artistic contribution in a variety of areas within the film sector and his tireless efforts to share his skills with young film makers,’ says Film Festival chairwoman Jeltje van Nieuwenhoven on the organisation’s website.

KLM slashes fares to 80 locations

Dutch carrier KLM is cutting the prices of some plane tickets by up to 30% in an effort to fill seats.
