Zwartboek best Dutch film ever

Paul Verhoeven’s “Zwartboek”, set in the Second World War, has been voted the best Dutch feature-length film all-time. The online voting round, in which 50,000 people participated, was organised by the public TV channel, Nederland 2, together with the Dutch Film Festival and the TV network, the VPRO. Eddy Terstall’s “Simon”, a film whose main theme is euthanasia with an Amsterdam backdrop, claimed second place, while “Soldaat van Oranje” – also by Paul Verhoeven – came in third. Another Verhoeven film, “Turks Fruit”, which was voted best film of the century in 1999, ended in fifth place.

Dutch fashion duo Viktor & Rolf have denied that a lack of cash is the reason behind their decision to produce a seven-minute video of their spring and summer line.

The video, featuring just one model and involving a crew of 75, was just as expensive to make as a runway show
