“Its a Alive Again” The Portable CD Player?

The CD is far from dead, at least in the UK. According to the Telegraph, sales of portable CD players have surged this holiday season, with UK high street store Curry’s shifting 50% more units than last year — 45,000 have been sold country-wide in October. And much-loved department store John Lewis has seen such demand that it has started stocking the players again after a four year lapse.

Dutch DJ best in the world

Armin van Buuren has been voted the world’s best dj for the second year running by readers of the influential British magazine DJ Mag.

‘It’s the Oscar of the dance music world,’ he told the Telegraaf.

The 32-year-old Van Buuren entered the DJ Mag top 100 list at number 27 in 2001.

Dutch Band “Krezip” calling it quits after 10 years

Krezip, one of the most successful Dutch bands in recent years, is calling it a day after 10 years in the business.

Formed when they were still at school, Krezip’s biggest hit I Would Stay was recently voted the best Dutch pop song of all time by listeners to 3FM.

The band announced in Giel Beelen‘s radio show that they had decided to break up.

On the band’s Hyves account, they elaborated that now, at their peak, was a good time for them to quit and go their own ways.

Anouk to teach pop at conservatory

Dutch singer Anouk is going to give lessons in pop music to students at Amsterdam’s conservatory, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

Two of her regular band are students at the conservatory while her drummer Oscar Kral is head of the popular music department
