Posted in console games, FPS games, gamer, Games, gaming news, pc games with tags , , , on April 4, 2011 by nunetherlands

A new Crysis 2 PC patch is scheduled to go live later today. Below you will find a list of the top fixes.

List of changes
• Further improved anti-cheat measures
• Fix for spurious characters appearing when initiating text chat
• Fix for Chatlog doesn’t disappear after kill cam
• Fixed occasional login issues
• Changed VOIP defaults
• Fixed some UI aspect issues on multiple monitors
• Added option for crouch toggle in MP & SP
• Fixed a bug where players lost Nano Catalyst points after restarting the game

We’re working hard with our Ranked Server Partners to switch the servers at the same time that the patch goes live – but inevitably this will take time so we ask for your patience. When you launch the game, the patch will auto-download. If you cannot find servers, please exit the game and re-start to ensure the patch has applied.

You can check the version number by selecting Properties on Crysis2.exe and selecting Details. The correct version after patching will be 1.2.0.0, and the executable will be signed by Crytek GmbH.

Update #1
Added the Nano Catalyst bug to the list of fixed issues. There seems to be a little confusion about the patch so please note, this is not the full list, but rather the key highlights.

For Steam Users
Steam users will experience some prolonged loading times in this patch for which we apologise. We will update the Steam build in the next few days to resolve this issue.

Crysis 2

The demo will include 2 maps, 2 modes, hours of multiplayer action, and you get to try on and master the Nanosuit.

EA also said that gamers who pre-order Crysis 2 today will receive an automatic upgrade to the Crysis 2 Limited Edition, while supplies last.

Players will compete in six vs. six matches set against a war-torn Manhattan in two maps: ‘Skyline’, set on top of the rooftops and interiors of skyscrapers, and ‘Pier 17’, an open environment with limited cover. The demo also features two modes: ‘Team Instant Action’ pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to win the round and ‘Crash Site,’ where players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.

Developed by Crytek UK, Crytek’s specialist multiplayer studio, Crysis 2 multiplayer features six gameplay modes and 12 maps set in iconic locations across New York City. Throughout the multiplayer campaign, players earn up to 50 ranks and a variety of different upgrades to their weapons and their Nanosuit. Gamers who pre-order Crysis 2 today will receive an automatic upgrade to the Crysis 2 Limited Edition, available while supplies last. This special edition includes four must-have in-game unlocks for the ultimate multiplayer experience, including:

Bonus XP – Players will jump into multiplayer battles with an edge by starting with enough experience points to gain early access to all preset class load-outs.

SCAR Hologram Decoy – This special attachment to the SCAR will project a hologram image of the player, allowing them to confuse their opponents with the decoy.

SCAR Weapon Skin – This digital camouflage skin will allow players to add a personalized touch to one of the more popular assault rifles in the game.

Platinum Dog Tag – This special one-of-a-kind dog tag is one of over 250 that will be collectible in Crysis 2 multiplayer, helping to separate you from the rest of the field.

EA today released a playable demo for Mass Effect 2, allowing you to try out the sci-fi RPG sequel. The demo is now available for PC and Xbox 360.

The demo includes the first two missions in the full game plus one bonus mission which publisher Electronic Arts says totals about 90 minutes worth of gameplay.

The 1.87GB PC download can be found on Bioware (direct link for English demo), GH, AtomicGamer, FanGaming.

In addition, BioWare plans to release the previously announced Overlord DLC for Mass Effect 2 on Tuesday. The new mini-campaign of five levels on one planet where you have to fight off an alien AI, will be sold for 560 BioWare points (about $7).

Once they play the demo, players will be able to create a save and carry over their character along with the experience points, story decisions, achievements and weapons earned into the full version of the game – picking up right where they left off, on both PC and Xbox 360.
